Well, the Tour de France in Yorkshire is moving ever closer and we who live on the route are still agonising over where we're going to be when the cavalcade comes through. Yesterday ickledot attended the grand opening of Fields of Vision, a project that has involved a number of artists putting large scale pieces of art in fields that run along the road as Le Tour passes through West Yorkshire. Unfortunately the weather let us down somewhat but still the assembled group enjoyed entertainment and refreshment between the showers. It was generally agreed that we'd put up with rain all the way to July, just as long as it's fine when the world's greatest sporting circus comes to our particular towns.
The art work you can see above depicts a shepherd and his sheepdog. Later in the afternoon a real shepherd and his dog skilfully steered a small flock around the art to end in a pen placed right in the palm of the art shepherd's hand.
