As reported a couple of weeks ago, Yorkshire U20 have survived the group stages unbeaten and are now into the knockout rounds of their competition. ickledot was delighted when asked by Yorkshire RFU to produce an advert poster for their upcoming quarter final against North Midlands U20, to be held at York Rugby Club on 15 February. Decided to base it on a picture featured on this blog back in January, featuring scrum half James Thompson in a match against Lancashire. With the left side of the image darkened, it provided a good space for some text. From there it really all fell into place quite quickly. Was a bit proud of the 'Future's Reet, Future's Yorkshire' strapline which older readers will recognise as inspired by the famous Orange ad of the early nineties, 'The future's bright, the future's Orange'.
This was followed by the production of a little slideshow in Adobe Premier Pro, ickledot's first encounter with this software. Have to say was greatly helped by a blog which show how Adobe InDesign, the desktop publishing app, can work with Premier Pro. You can see the result here.
Anyway, the whole point in doing this was to get people along to the game on 15 February. So, if you're anywhere near, why not come along and support the team?
