Mixed Ability Rugby World Tournament

Just a short post to report on the progress of this pioneering tournament which is taking place right now at Bradford & Bingley Rugby Club in West Yorkshire, UK. The Grand Opening took place in Centenary Square, Bradford on Monday and the competition's Group Stages took place yesterday, Tuesday. And most exciting they were too with teams taking part from France, Italy, Spain, Ireland, all the home countries and representative players from as far away as Argentina. There were further celebrations today before the competition recommences with the knockout stages tomorrow. This is a form of rugby which is highly competitive yet enjoyed by all abilities from the very able and skilful to slightly less so. It really lifts the spirit and leaves one with the feeling that all sports people, professional or otherwise, would do well to spend at least part of their playing life in a mixed ability team. Here's a little slideshow of the games so far.
