The Christmas break this year meant a break also in blogging so apologies for that if you were expecting news. Hope Christmas was good for you and that 2016 will be a good year for all of us. Here in West Yorkshire and elsewhere in the north of England and Scotland, much water has literally passed under the bridge since ickledot's last blog - over and through it in many cases. The worst floods in living memory swept through the end of 2015, bringing destruction and heartache to many communities.
The River Aire broke its banks on Boxing Day, covering the grounds, club house and changing rooms of Bradford & Bingley Rugby Club for the third time in as many weeks. For a number of days it seemed like the very existence of the club was in jeopardy, facing a massive repair bill with no prospect of an insurance payout. Thankfully people have been generous with their time and money and things are beginning to turn around. There's much still to do though and if you'd like to help with a donation, however small, you can do so here.
On a more positive note, Bradford & Bingley's Bumbles were in action at Keighley a couple of days after 'The Great Flood', brushing away a few Christmas hangovers to score no less than 41 points and win handsomely. The game was played in a great festive spirit and enjoyed by all. The try below from Jack Thornber topped off a great afternoon.
You can see more pictures from the game here.
