Into The Semi Finals For Harrogate Ladies

As quite a number of teams have discovered this past weekend, when you play in a knockout cup competition you never know what calibre of team is going to turn up and face you. This was the situation for Harrogate Ladies in their quarter final tie against Amber Valley Rugby Club.

An additional challenge was the pitch which was even heavier and muddier than the last time ickledot visited a couple of weeks ago. It's a young pitch, only a season and a half old. Still bedding in you might say. Once again, Harrogate's open running play belied the conditions underfoot.

The headline's rather given it away - Harrogate won - quite handsomely as it happened. As was agreed in a post match discussion, Amber Valley are at an earlier point in their club's development and so were somewhat overwhelmed by the home side. They kept fighting throughout though and none of Harrogate's points were gained easily.

So Harrogate are now into the Semi Final of the Junior Plate and are clearly delighted to be so. Congratulations to them!
