Amazing how two adjoining days can be so different. It was still bitterly cold on Sunday, the temperature barely creeping above freezing, but the clouds were higher and the sun was making regular appearances as West Park Leeds Ladies began their latest league fixture against Loughborough Ladies.
As reported previously, it's been a highly successful season so far for the Bramhope club; unbeaten in all competitions, many matches won convincingly with points tallies regularly topping the half century.
Loughborough competed well for the whole game, quite clearly stronger and better organised than some recent visiting teams. They'll have been disappointed with a final scoreline of 64-0 but that's by no means the heaviest defeat inflicted by WPL during this campaign.
As for WPL, there seemed to be a number of different faces among the regulars but this had no detrimental effect on the overall performance. Points were scored with regularity on both sides of the field and through the centre.
Unfortunately there's no official match report as yet so I'm unable to attach names to the various players featured on the photographs. Perhaps someone can help and I'll update this post accordingly.
It was a good day photographically, particularly in the first half when WPL played towards the sun and away from the clubhouse. As always, you can see more shots from game over on Flickr. If that's not enough there's an added bonus selection which includes those amended for an Instagram Story here. Feel free to download any - you can make a little donation for doing so here. Thank you in advance - gear and fuel costs money and, as the supermarket says, every little bit helps!
Footnote for the referee featured supervising the scrum in the header picture. A great display of good humoured adjudication and encouragement from him. All the county's referees do a fantastic job and I'm most grateful to the South Yorkshire ones for giving my previous post a retweet.
